Hurricane Helene - Integris Design Is Fully Operational
We are happy to announce that Integris Design LLC is back up and running. The devastation Hurricane Helene left in its wake has profoundly affected our community and surrounding areas. However, we feel incredibly fortunate that our homes, offices, and infrastructure have withstood the storm’s fury.
Many of our neighbors are not so lucky. Countless people are still without water, electricity, and means of communication. Just near our home, what was once a small, walkable stream has swollen into a torrent over 30 feet wide.
While state and federal aid has been minimal, it’s been truly inspiring to witness the strength of our local community. Churches and neighbors are coming together, pooling their resources to help one another. At the same time, it’s disheartening to see the gap between what’s really happening here and what is portrayed in the media.
On a positive note, this hurricane allowed us to put our infrastructure to the test—and it passed with flying colors. Our local servers and cloud backups worked seamlessly, and we’re already planning to enhance our preparedness by investing in advanced backup generators and integrating satellite internet to stay fully operational no matter what external challenges arise.
We’ve been deeply touched by the outpouring of prayers and support from so many of you. As a family business, we consider you all more than just clients—you’re friends, and we know most of you by name. A special thank you goes out to Brendan Furnish for his incredible assistance and to Jeff Cox at Power Plus Electrical for going above and beyond to help us in this challenging time. We also want to express gratitude for those working tirelessly removing trees, restoring electricity and providing for those in need.
We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a caring and resilient community.
Aftermath of Helene
This video captures a journey down I-26 toward Asheville, with the camera focused on the swollen French Broad River. The river, surging far beyond its usual boundaries, has ravaged much of the surrounding area. A major concern is the lack of flood insurance for many homes and businesses, leaving the local economy vulnerable to long-lasting effects. Note: This clip is silent.
Below is a video of a mobile home being washed away by the floodwaters. This creek could be crossed easily before the hurricane.
Below are some photos that were taken with an iPhone as were were traveling to check on family and friends in the area. In these photos, the water is not normal flowing water, but rather floodwaters that washed away entire areas.
